'Poor’ deal
Bernardo Bertolucci’s birthday
I was quite baffled by news that poor families are to be loaned computers. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for helping out those worse off than me, but the project is being trialled in Westminster. Last time I was on business down near the Houses of Parliament I didn’t notice many run-down council flats or chavs milling about. I reckon if you can afford to live in Westminster, you certainly don’t need a handout. Now, somewhere like Dagenham or Peckham would be another matter entirely.
